Our location is quiet, green and away from busy tourist areas. That is part of what makes Oemah Tepi Sawah special. At the same time, it is useful to plan transport, payments and a few practical details in advance.
Oemah Tepi Sawah is located around 1.5 km from the nearest village, surrounded by rice fields and forest.
The setting is peaceful and remote, ideal for guests who enjoy nature and a slower pace.
Oemah Tepi Sawah is surrounded by working rice fields, giving you a genuine experience of rural Bali. Our own rice field is farmed organically , without chemical fertilizers.
The neighboring rice fields are actively farmed by local families using their own farming methods. Most of the time the surroundings are peaceful, but farming is part of everyday life here.
After the harvest, our neighbors use machinery to cut the remaining straw, usually around twice a year. Occasionally, you may also hear tree cutting or other agricultural work nearby.
These activities are usually temporary and are simply part of everyday life in the Balinese countryside.
We are located at approximately 600 metres above sea level.
Evenings can feel pleasantly cool and rain is possible, especially during the rainy season.
We accept payment in cash (IDR or EUR), as well as Wise or Revolut.
Card payments are not available. The nearest ATM is approximately 6 km away.
Breakfast is included in your room rate and is served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. If you would like breakfast earlier or later, just let us know.
Dinner is available at Oemah Tepi Sawah. For lunch, we can help arrange delivery or you can explore local warungs in the nearby village.
Meals & DiningBeing surrounded by rice fields and forest means you may hear insects, frogs, birds and other sounds of nature, especially in the evening.
Some parts of our houses, especially the bathrooms, are designed to be open to the tropical surroundings. Because of this, insects, geckos or other small tropical visitors may occasionally find their way inside.
We clean the accommodation daily and do our best to keep everything clean and comfortable, but staying this close to nature also means sharing the environment with some of its smaller inhabitants.
If you are a light sleeper, bringing earplugs can be a good idea.
You are welcome to arrange your own transportation, use an online taxi service, or ask Dewi to connect you with one of the trusted drivers from our village.
More about airport transfers & transportIt is easy to find taxis at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), and online taxi services such as Grab are also available.
This will usually be cheaper than arranging one of our local drivers .
If you are comfortable arranging your own transport, this is a perfectly good option and there is no need to book a driver through us.
If you prefer, Dewi can connect you with one of the trusted drivers from our village whom we know personally.
The advantage is convenience: the driver already knows exactly where Oemah Tepi Sawah is and can bring you directly to us.
This can make arrival easier after a long flight, especially because we are located in a rural part of Bali.
For airport pick-up, airport drop-off or transport to your next hotel, Dewi can connect you with one of the drivers from our village.
With your permission, Dewi will share your WhatsApp number with the driver.
The driver will then contact you directly, so you can agree on the price, pick-up time and meeting point .
Why choose a local driver?
Grab and Gojek drivers can normally bring you to Oemah Tepi Sawah without a problem.
You can therefore use an online taxi when arriving from the airport or another part of Bali.
Getting a Grab or Gojek from Oemah Tepi Sawah can be more difficult because there are fewer online drivers nearby.
We recommend arranging your next journey in advance, asking your incoming driver about a return trip, or asking Dewi to connect you with a local driver.

Because we are surrounded by tropical nature, a few simple items can make your stay more comfortable.
During the rainy season, the forest and rice-field paths can be wetter and insects are generally more active.
